3.  No driving away if your pal is in the bathtub and you are sitting in the front seat looking out the window dreaming of the neighbour’s cat..
4.  No phone calls on the mobile ordering sausage pizza.

People Rules

These are non- negotiable terms.

Vaccinations
Flea and Tick Treatment:

For your pets safety and the safety of the pets that follow it is required that your dog be up to date on all vaccinations as well as flea and tick prevention.  (Although the van is disinfected after each pet and deep cleaned every evening, vaccinations are very important to your pet’s general health).

Safety/Dog Behaviour
Safety comes first for everyone during the grooming process, people as well as pets.  Client must inform us prior to grooming if your pet has bitten someone or has aggressive tendencies.  Client will be liable for any bites or any property damage caused by their pet(s).

If your dog becomes too aggressive or stressed, groomer will stop the grooming process and client will still be responsible for the full grooming charge.  For groomer’s safety as well as your pets, groomer will not continue anything that may be harmful to either of them.  Groom ‘n’ Zoom Services wants to make your pets experience as positive and relaxing as possible.

Senior Pets and Pets with Health Issues
Grooming procedures sometimes can be stressful, especially for a senior pet or a pet with health problems. Because senior pets and pets with health problems have a greater chance of injury, these pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort, in styles that will not add to their stress.  Groom ‘n’ Zoom Services will not be responsible for accident or injury to an elderly or health-compromised pet during their grooming

For overly aggressive or overly stressed pets, Groom ‘n’ Zoom Services will not be able to maintain you as a Client.
It may be better and easier for your pet to be groomed in a vet’s office where they can safely sedate and monitor your pet during the grooming process.

Puppies or Dogs that have never been groomed before
Groom ‘n’ Zoom Services will do everything possible to make your pets first time groom is an enjoyable and positive experience. By working very slowly, the groomer’s preference for the first groom is to introduce the grooming process to your pet. Groomer brushes, bathes, and dries your pet, and then introduces the clipper by letting your pet see and smell, slowly rubbing clippers on their body before turning them on. The whole process is repeated with the clippers running. Some pets will accept this right away, while others may take more time. The groomer will do as much as possible this first time, without causing undo stress to your pet. Your pet may not be ready for a full haircut on their first visit. In this situation, your pet will be groomed as much as possible, based entirely on their patience and tolerance. This is a learning process where only positive repetition can prevail.

Mats
The de-matting process is not only dangerous and inhumane, because hair is ripped from the skin.  De-matting can be a long and painful process.

When a dog is presented in a severely matted condition, it is policy to shave the whole coat using electric clippers with a close blade. To de-matt would cause the animal tremendous stress and discomfort, often leaving a very thinned and damaged coat. Shaving the coat is quicker and kinder to a dog. Many dogs are traumatised by unnecessary hours of de-matting, putting them off grooming for life. I consider shaving an act of kindness.

Comfort always comes before style. If your pet is lightly matted and you ask for the coat to be saved, we will charge $15 for 15 minutes.   If we do not believe we can remove the mats in a timely manner or we feel your pet is in pain, we will not continue and will clip short/shave. We firmly believe grooming should be an enjoyable experience and will not put your pet through the discomfort of unnecessary de-matting

Medical issue:
Grooming can occasionally expose an unknown pre-existing condition or even aggravate an existing one, which can appear during or after grooming.  Any sign of a potential problem will be brought to your attention following the grooming.  Groom ‘n’ Zoom services cannot diagnose any conditions, but may advise you to seek veterinary attention.

CANCELLATION, NO SHOW AND RE-SCHEDULES
FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR PETS, GROOMER AND MOBILE RIG, IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO CANCEL ON SHORT NOTICE IN THE EVENT OF INCLIMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS OR EQUIPMENT MALFUNCTION.  (If school buses aren’t running, neither is Groom ‘n’ Zoom Services.)  Your appointment will be rescheduled as soon as possible.

In order to keep our time commitments and provide quality service to customers, Groom N Zoom Services must adhere to a formal schedule.  This involves scheduling new appointments in each community on particular days of the week, and return appointments weeks ahead. We make every effort to accommodate your work/home schedule, call 905-658-1553 for availability.

1.  If you cancel or re-schedule an appointment at least 24 hours in advance, no charges apply.
2.  A cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in a bill for the full cost of your pet’s scheduled service.   Every effort will be made to fill the slot vacated by your late cancellation, and if we are able to do so, you will not be charged.
3.   If we haven’t heard from you, we show up at the appointed time and nobody’s home, we will leave you an invoice for the FULL COST OF THE SCHEDULED GROOM, plus a trip charge of up to $25.  If you fail to make your payment, we will cease all future services.  (Fortunately, we have awesome customers and this is a very rare occurrence.)
